Whole School
Thank a Teacher Day

National Thank a Teacher Day is Back on 17th June 2026!
The UK-wide celebration of all teaching and support staff is back. National Thank a Teacher Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 17th June 2026.
As always, we want to celebrate every single person who makes school life special, from classroom assistants and IT technicians to lunchtime staff and everyone who keeps things running. They all deserve that special thank you.
Want to make someone's day? Send a free limited edition e-card to a special teacher, support staff member or even a whole school team before National Thank a Teacher Day. Just visit the Thank a Teacher website to send yours. It is free, only takes a moment and can mean so much.
Diary Dates

Weather
Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather. It is looking much warmer next week and (hopefully!) dry. Please ensure children have sun cream etc.
However, it could end up wet and dreary again so please keep an eye on the forecast and send children with coats if needed.
Safeguarding
There is no access to the school site for children and parents/carers until 8am when breakfast club attendees can enter. Parents must take their children directly to hall/Nursery.
Similarly, parents collecting from Activity Clubs and Choir at 4.40pm must not enter the site until 4.35pm when the gate opens. Please do not arrive early and wait in the playground.
Bikes and Scooters
We politely request that you don’t leave bikes and scooters on the school premises over night.
Donations Needed
If you have any books you or your child no longer read, please donate them to our second hand book stall for the Summer Fair run by Miss Buckley and Tsveta Dimitrova to raise some much needed funds for our SEND resources. The books must be in good condition! Thank you for your support.
Adopt A Teddy Stall – Summer Fair
Star Squad will be running an Adopt a Teddy stall at the summer fair on Saturday 27th June. Please bring in any clean soft toys from home that you no longer play with (teddies, plushies etc – nothing mechanical or electrical), so we can find them a new home, reducing waste and saving the planet. Please give them to your class teacher, and Star Squad reps will pass them to Mrs Greene.
Thank you!

Nursery
After collecting your child from Nursery, please leave the school site. Do not stay and allow your children to play in the main playground. This is for health and safety and safeguarding reasons.
If you have an older child to collect, please wait outside the gate until they open at 3.15.
Ongoing Reminders
Coldfall Avenue School Gate – Opening Hours
The Coldfall Avenue gate is locked between 9.05 am and 3.15 pm. Please use the Everington Road entrance during these times. There are no exceptions apart from for Blue Badge holders. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of all children.
Administering Medication
We are bound by the Local Authority regulations, which seek to exclude any drugs from school premises unless absolutely necessary. This means that any antibiotics taken three times a day should be administered before school, at the end of the school day and at bedtime. Should a child have to take antibiotics four times a day or have other medication during the school day as specifically instructed by the GP, we are happy to administer this medicine. However, before we do so, parents must provide consent and complete the Administering Medicine form. Medication should be provided in the original packaging, with the child’s name, giving clear administering instructions.
Mobile Phones
Parents, please be reminded NO mobile phone use on the school premises at all before and after school. We want you to set the best example for our children – be present for them at these important times. If parents are on their phones at drop off/pick up time, a member or staff may politely request that they put it away until they have left the playground.
Breakfast Club
We strongly recommend that you walk your children to the door of breakfast club in the mornings rather than leaving them at the school gates (this applies to older children as well). The site is not supervised early in the morning. Please also be reminded that you will not be able to come in for Breakfast club until 8.00am.
Bringing in items late to school
If there is an item that you or your child has forgotten (such as water bottles, clothing, bags, books, musical instruments, lunch or snacks, etc.) can these please be brought to the office NO LATER than 9.30am. Taking items to classrooms during school hours disturbs teaching and learning, as well as the office.
