Walk to School Month! Happy ShoesDay

October is International Walk to School Month! To celebrate this, Tuesday 6th October will be Happy ShoesDay and the children can wear their favourite shoes to school (no heels or wheels, please). We look forward to seeing lots of children walking, scooting and cycling to school this month!Research shows that children who walk to school (even just a short walk at the end of a car journey) do better at school as they arrive refreshed and ready to learn.

Festival of the Girl

Festival of The Girl is designed for 7-11 year old girls and their families (including brothers), which is taking place on Sat 3rd and Sun 4th October in Islington, London. Kids will have the opportunity to try different activities ranging from engineering to sports, aerospace to visual effects, vaccinations to gaming, mental health to sustainability, medicine to Bollywood dancing, activism to mechanics and much more. With a SEND session and pay-what-you-can option they don't want any girl to miss out.

Community Gardening

Join us for more Community Gardening sessions with Mrs Greene after school this term.This is a chance to garden with other families and children in a relaxed and informal setting on our allotment at school – it’s completely free, no commitment required, and all welcome. After the next two sessions, we will take a break and start again in the Spring.

Who: Parents / Carers / Grandparents / Staff and up to two children
(adults must stay to supervise them)

When:Weds 7th Oct, 3:45 – 4:30 – planting bulbs
Weds 21st Oct, 3:45 – 4:30 – planting bulbs

Where:School allotment (fenced off area left of the dining hall) behind playhouse

Bring:Nothing required, but bring gardening gloves if you have them
