Whole School
Reception to Year 5 Is your child leaving us?
If you are intending for your child to leave the school at the end of this year, please kindly inform the school office so we can plan accordingly.
Mobile Phones
Parents, please be reminded NO mobile phone use on the school premises at all before and after school. We want you to set the best example for our children – be present for them at these important times. If parents are on their phones at drop off/pick up time, a member or staff may politely request that they put it away until they have left the playground.
Scooters and Bikes
There are lots of scooters and bikes which have been left on the school premises for a long time. If one of these belongs to your child, please remove it by the end of this week. We will need to dispose of any unclaimed bikes and scooters after this time.
Walk to School Week
It’s Walk to School Week next week (19-22 May)! Please encourage your child to walk/scoot/cycle to school as often as they can next week, and if you come by car, consider parking further away so they can walk a little further. Walking to school has been shown to improve children’s wellbeing and learning during the day, and also reduces air pollution. It also encourages conversations with family and friends along the way. Thank you for supporting this – and enjoy your walks to school!
Activity Club Pick Up
This is a reminder that pick up from activity clubs and choir is at 4.40pm. The gate opens at 4.35 to allow time for you to reach the relevant pick up point. staff will not be able to open the gate before 4.35pm unless this has been pre-arranged.
Weather
We have been lucky enough to have some lovely sunny weather lately, but this week there have been bouts of heavy rain and even hail. Lots of children were without coats during these periods of adverse weather. Please check the forecast and ensure children have appropriate clothing for the weather. Thank you.
Haringey Young Musicians – Drum Club
Haringey Young Musicians are launching a new Drum Club which will take place on Thursdays, 4.00 - 5.15pm, Dukes Aldridge Academy, N17 0PG. The club is open to all Haringey pupils who are in Year 4 and upwards. Pupils can try the club for free for half a term. The cost is then £29 per term or free for students on Free School Meals. Ongoing Reminders
Administering Medication
We are bound by the Local Authority regulations, which seek to exclude any drugs from school premises unless absolutely necessary. This means that any antibiotics taken three times a day should be administered before school, at the end of the school day and at bedtime. Should a child have to take antibiotics four times a day or have other medication during the school day as specifically instructed by the GP, we are happy to administer this medicine. However, before we do so, parents must provide consent and complete the Administering Medicine form. Medication should be provided in the original packaging, with the child’s name, giving clear administering instructions.
Driving and Parking
Even through nearby roads such as Greenham Road and Wilton Road are not school streets, please ensure you are driving and parking safely, and being considerate of the residents. Where possible, please walk the entire journey to school so you won’t need to park.
Mobile Phones
Parents, please be reminded NO mobile phone use on the school premises at all before and after school. We want you to set the best example for our children – be present for them at these important times. If parents are on their phones at drop off/pick up time, a member or staff may politely request that they put it away until they have left the playground.
Breakfast Club
We strongly recommend that you walk your children to the door of breakfast club in the mornings rather than leaving them at the school gates (this applies to older children as well). The site is not supervised early in the morning. Please also be reminded that you will not be able to come in for Breakfast club until 8.00am.
Bringing in items late to school
If there is an item that you or your child has forgotten (such as water bottles, clothing, bags, books, musical instruments, lunch or snacks, etc.) can these please be brought to the office NO LATER than 9.30am. Taking items to classrooms during school hours disturbs teaching and learning, as well as the office.
