Whole School

Thank you

We want to thank parents and carers who have been really supportive and patient this week. We have received some very kind messages which really means a lot. Thank you all.

Sports Week

Next week we are excited to be holding a Sports Week at school, showcasing a wide range of activities for the children to take part in and enjoy. Children should come to school in PE kit all week incl hot weather precautions e.g. sun hats.

Physical activity plays such an important role in children’s wellbeing, confidence, teamwork and overall health, so we wanted to create opportunities for everyone to get involved, have fun and perhaps even try something new. We have intentionally included a diverse range of sports and activities throughout the week to ensure there is something for all children to enjoy and feel inspired by.

As part of Sports Week, we have also arranged a number of activities that parents and carers can join in with before school and before and after pick-up. We would love you to come along, take part and role model positive participation and enjoyment of physical activity to your children. We hope you and the children will enjoy these.

Coldfall Avenue School Gate – Opening Hours

The Coldfall Avenue gate is locked between 9.05 am and 3.15 pm. Please use the Everington Road entrance during these times. There are no exceptions apart from for Blue Badge holders. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of all children. This is still in place during special events. Please do not ask the office to open the gate as they have been instructed not to.

Ongoing Reminders

Administering Medication

We are bound by the Local Authority regulations, which seek to exclude any drugs from school premises unless absolutely necessary. This means that any antibiotics taken three times a day should be administered before school, at the end of the school day and at bedtime. Should a child have to take antibiotics four times a day or have other medication during the school day as specifically instructed by the GP, we are happy to administer this medicine. However, before we do so, parents must provide consent and complete the Administering Medicine form. Medication should be provided in the original packaging, with the child’s name, giving clear administering instructions.

Mobile Phones

Parents, please be reminded NO mobile phone use on the school premises at all before and after school. We want you to set the best example for our children – be present for them at these important times. If parents are on their phones at drop off/pick up time, a member or staff may politely request that they put it away until they have left the playground.

Breakfast Club

We strongly recommend that you walk your children to the door of breakfast club in the mornings rather than leaving them at the school gates (this applies to older children as well). The site is not supervised early in the morning. Please also be reminded that you will not be able to come in for Breakfast club until 8.00am.

Bringing in items late to school

If there is an item that you or your child has forgotten (such as water bottles, clothing, bags, books, musical instruments, lunch or snacks, etc.) can these please be brought to the office via the Everington Road Gate NO LATER than 9.30am. Taking items to classrooms during school hours disturbs teaching and learning, as well as the office.
