Weekly Reminders 3rd July

03/07/2026

Whole School

Term Dates

This is a reminder that pick up on Friday is at 1.30pm and 1.20pm for Reception children on the last day of term, Friday 17th July.

The first day back for children is Thursday 3rd September. Please see next year’s term dates on our website.

Hot Weather

It is looking likely that it will be quite warm next week. We expect school will be open as usual and all classrooms will have their air-con units switched on. If you feel it is inappropriate for your child to attend, please keep them at home. We have no plans for a midday pick up next week.

School Book Fair

Our Summer Book Fair starts on Monday. There will be a large selection of books suitable for all year groups. The school gets 50p back from every £1 spent to spend on books, so it's definitely a great place for spending pocket money, buying birthday gifts or stocking up your home library. The book fair will be on the lower playground every day after school.

Reports and Exhibition Evening

Your child’s reports will be sent to you next week before Exhibition Evening on 9th July. Please be patient as it does take time to send them all. If you have more than one child at school their reports may not arrive at the same time.

Exhibition Evening will be from 4pm-6pm. We would like to remind you that there will be no activity clubs running today and you have not been charged for the session but Night Owls will still be available for after-school care.

If you collect your child from Night Owls to go with you to Exhibition Evening you cannot sign them back in. Please take any collected children home with you.

Due to the hot weather forecast for next Thursday, our pregnant staff Miss Stapleton (Woodpecker) and Miss Bruce (Goldfinch) will not be available at Exhibition Evening. You are still very welcome to come to the classrooms to see all the children’s work. Thank you for your understanding.

Year 6 Enterprise Project Fair – Exhibition Evening

Join us on Thursday 9th July for the Year 6 Enterprise Project Fair, taking place during Exhibition Evening.

Our Year 6 pupils have been working hard on their enterprise projects and will be hosting a fair in the lower playground from 3:45–4:45 pm. There will be a fantastic selection of snacks, drinks, handmade crafts, games, and a raffle with some excellent prizes.

Each group has been given a small investment and is aiming to generate a profit to raise funds for the school. We would love your support, so please come along, enjoy the activities, and see the creativity and entrepreneurial skills the children have developed.

To make purchases at the fair, cash can be exchanged for £1 tokens, with all items and activities priced in multiples of £1. Tokens can be purchased at the fair, or in advance on the morning of Thursday 9th July in the lower playground between 8:45–9:10 am. Please note that purchased or lost tokens cannot be refunded.

The Big Future

The Children’s Commissioner would love your support in helping your child have their voice heard by taking part in the Children's Commissioner's The Big Future survey. The survey takes just 5–10 minutes to complete, and parents and carers can complete it on behalf of younger children. Your child's views will help shape decisions about the future for children and young people across the country. You can take part here: http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture.

Year 3

We are delighted to let you know that Year 3 will be enjoying a special afternoon on Tuesday 14th July, at Muswell Hill Playing Fields. The children will take part in a variety of fun activities, including football, cricket, rounders and other team games, followed by an ice cream treat.

This afternoon has been organised as a special replacement for our cancelled trip to Alexandra Palace, which unfortunately could not go ahead due to the extreme heat.

We will leave school at 1:30 pm and walk through Coldfall Woods to the playing fields. The children will return to school before the end of the school day.

We are looking for two parent volunteers from each class to accompany us on the walk and help supervise the children during the afternoon. If you are available to volunteer, please let your child's class teacher know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a fun-filled afternoon with the children!
