Value of the Month - Loyalty

Loyalty to the badge. Here’s what it means to be a loyal member of Coldfall school:
- Follow instructions
- Keep hands, objects and unkind comments to yourself
- Respect property
- Walk quietly on the left
- Work hard and try your best
- Use kind words
- Be kind online
That’s right. It’s the Golden Rules. Abide by these and you can consider yourself a loyal member of the Coldfall community. These apply to all of us: Children, Staff, Parents. Thank you for your support.

Windrush Day
On Monday 22nd June, we will be celebrating Windrush Day at school.
Throughout the day, children will be learning about the Windrush Generation and the significant contributions they have made to our country and society. This is an important opportunity for our children to learn about British history, diversity, and the many cultures that help make our communities so rich and vibrant. As well as celebrating the Windrush Generation, we will also be taking this as an opportunity to celebrate the diverse heritage of all of our Coldfall pupils.
To mark the occasion, we invite all children and staff to come to school wearing clothing that represents their heritage. This could be national dress, clothing in the colours of a national flag, a country's football shirt, or any outfit that celebrates a family's cultural background.
We would also love to hear from members of our school community. If you are a parent, carer, or family member with a connection to the Windrush story and would be interested in coming into school to speak with the children, please contact your child's class teacher.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to celebrating this special day together.

Adopt A Teddy Stall – Summer Fair
Star Squad will be running an Adopt a Teddy stall at the summer fair on Saturday 27th June. Please bring in any clean soft toys from home that you no longer play with (teddies, plushies etc – nothing mechanical or electrical), so we can find them a new home, reducing waste and saving the planet. Please give them to your class teacher, and Star Squad reps will pass them to Mrs Greene.
Thank you!
Water Week – June 8-14
Next week is Water Week. Water is one of our most precious resources, but we often take it for granted. As the hot weather continues, we can all help by conserving water – saving money, energy and the planet. Here are some things you can do at home:
- Install a water butt to collect rainwater
- Reuse water (e.g. wash vegetables in a bowl, then use the water to water the garden)
- Don’t let the tap run when you brush your teeth
- Shower with your house plants!

Hedgehog Highways – you can help!
This year, we are working towards becoming a Hedgehog Friendly School. The children have been learning about hedgehogs, and how we can help this endearing animal, which is sadly now endangered in the UK.
Simple changes can make a big difference. Why not create a Hedgehog Highway with neighbours who have gardens in your street? All you need to do is make sure there is a hole 13cm x 13cm in fences or boundaries between gardens – hedgehogs need to travel at night to find food and mates, and being unable to do this can mean they don’t survive.
For more information about this and other ways you can help, see the link below – or ask your children. https://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/the-basic-facts-2/
Junior Road Watch
On Monday 1st June, our Junior Travel Ambassadors took part in the Junior Road Watch programme with the Met police. They used a speed gun to stop identify vehicles that were exceeding the 20mph limit on Coppetts Road, near our school. The police stopped the vehicles, and the children interviewed the drivers to find out why they had been speeding and if they were aware of the consequences. Our JTAs were brilliant communicators, very professional – and loved the experience!Thank you for sticking to the speed limits near our school!
