Weather

Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather. It is going to be very warm next week. Please ensure children are equipped with water, sun cream and a sun hat. Children can wear shorts/summer dresses to help keep themselves cool. We recommend Year 6 consider foregoing their hoodies during the heatwave for their comfort. Thank you.

Please note, on Tuesday when it is forecast to be particularly warm, the kitchen will serve a cold lunch of sandwiches.

Windrush Celebration Day

On Monday 22nd June, we will be celebrating Windrush Day at school.

Throughout the day, children will be learning about the Windrush Generation and the significant contributions they have made to our country and society. This is an important opportunity for our children to learn about British history, diversity, and the many cultures that help make our communities so rich and vibrant. As well as celebrating the Windrush Generation, we will also be taking this as an opportunity to celebrate the diverse heritage of all of our Coldfall pupils.

To mark the occasion, we invite all children and staff to come to school wearing clothing that represents their heritage. This could be national dress, clothing in the colours of a national flag, a country's football shirt, or any outfit that celebrates a family's cultural background.

In addition to this, the kitchen will prepare a special Caribbean style celebration lunch of jerk chicken, rice and peas (kidney beans), and a tasty veggie Caribbean stew.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to celebrating this special day together.

Coldfall Avenue School Gate – Opening Hours

The Coldfall Avenue gate is locked between 9.05 am and 3.15 pm. Please use the Everington Road entrance during these times. There are no exceptions apart from for Blue Badge holders. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of all children. This is still in place during special events. Please do not ask the office to open the gate as they have been instructed not to.

PSHE parent meeting: all welcome 3pm July 6th

This meeting is for any parents who would like to find out more about the new PSHE resources that will be used from September 2026 in line with the DfE revised statutory guidance. Jigsaw has largely kept its existing structure but has significantly strengthened safety, online literacy, safeguarding, personal hygiene, identity and AI-related content to fully align with the new 2026 RSHE requirements. Please email the office if you would like to attend.

Summer Fair

🦉At Friends of Coldfall we have 11 members on the committee & we’ve spent the last 182 days (since December!) thinking about the summer fair. With just 7 days to go, we’re almost ready to hand over to the kids for an amazing, colourful event! But first… we need your help! We’re asking for parent volunteers to donate just 30 minutes of their time to help make the summer fair a success! Please see this video message from Mr Marshall: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZxK64ENl9f/?igsh=MWt4M29rcnl0bDRl
⛔️Without more volunteers confirmed, we’ll have to think about what stalls we need to cancel - but we don’t want to do that!!
See below for the slots we still need to fill!

Ongoing Reminders

Administering Medication

We are bound by the Local Authority regulations, which seek to exclude any drugs from school premises unless absolutely necessary. This means that any antibiotics taken three times a day should be administered before school, at the end of the school day and at bedtime. Should a child have to take antibiotics four times a day or have other medication during the school day as specifically instructed by the GP, we are happy to administer this medicine. However, before we do so, parents must provide consent and complete the Administering Medicine form. Medication should be provided in the original packaging, with the child’s name, giving clear administering instructions.

Mobile Phones

Parents, please be reminded NO mobile phone use on the school premises at all before and after school. We want you to set the best example for our children – be present for them at these important times. If parents are on their phones at drop off/pick up time, a member or staff may politely request that they put it away until they have left the playground.

Breakfast Club

We strongly recommend that you walk your children to the door of breakfast club in the mornings rather than leaving them at the school gates (this applies to older children as well). The site is not supervised early in the morning. Please also be reminded that you will not be able to come in for Breakfast club until 8.00am.

Bringing in items late to school

If there is an item that you or your child has forgotten (such as water bottles, clothing, bags, books, musical instruments, lunch or snacks, etc.) can these please be brought to the office via the Everington Road Gate NO LATER than 9.30am. Taking items to classrooms during school hours disturbs teaching and learning, as well as the office.
